Songs made the slow way.
An independent music room for original songwriting, production, and AI-assisted workflows — where craft meets curiosity.
MooneChild Studios is the music room of MooneChild Enterprise — the place where Lorna Moone's songs are written, arranged and produced. It is deliberately small and independent: no label, no committee, just a writer, a piano and a growing set of tools built to serve the songs.
Two of the other rooms in this house were born here. ChordCraft Lab began as the studio's own way of thinking about chords, and Simplex DAW Assistant began as the studio's own production toolkit. What worked for the studio's records became courses and software anyone can use.
What happens in the studio
Songwriting
Lyric-first, melody-driven — songs that read as well as they sing. Every track starts as words on a page before a single chord is chosen.
Production
Warm, cinematic arrangements built from live and synthesized textures — piano at the centre, strings and rhythm arranged around the story.
AI Workflows
Thoughtful use of AI tools in service of a single, human authorial voice. The tools assist; the songs remain written by a person.
How a song gets made here
The words first
A lyric or a title arrives before the music. The song's job is to carry those words somewhere they couldn't go on the page alone.
Chords that fit the feeling
Progressions are chosen for what they say, not how clever they look — the same approach taught in ChordCraft Lab.
Arrangement and production
Each track is built up layer by layer: piano, rhythm, texture. Simplex DAW Assistant grew out of the tools built for this exact step.
Release
Finished songs go out to streaming services through the MooneChild catalog, and selected tracks are featured on the Music page.
Hear the results
The full MooneChild catalog — every released track, with liner notes — lives on the Music page, and streams everywhere through HearNow.
