What is inside
/midi 4 harmony files at 90 BPM in C: two chord parts, a bassline and a top line.
Load them on four tracks and you have a real mix to practise on.
/chains 6 sheets: chord bus, bass, drum bus, vocal/lead, master, gain staging.

Cubase
  1. Load the four MIDI files onto four instrument tracks (HALion Sonic or Vital).
  2. Build the chord bus: select the chord tracks, right-click > Add Group Channel.
  3. Follow /chains/01_chord_bus.txt in order, top to bottom, in the insert rack.
  4. Save the finished channel as a track preset, and the session as a template.

FL Studio
  1. Drag each MIDI file onto its own channel and route to mixer inserts 1-4.
  2. Route the chord inserts into a spare insert - that is your chord bus.
  3. Follow the sheets in the insert slots, in order.
  4. Save the mixer state: Mixer menu > File > Save mixer state as.

Ableton Live
  1. Drop each MIDI clip on its own track, load an instrument.
  2. Select the chord tracks and press Cmd/Ctrl+G to group them.
  3. Build the chain on the group, following the sheet in order.
  4. Save the chain: drag the device rack into User Library > Presets.

Lab Module 13 walks through all of this lesson by lesson.
